Shock mounts are set at about 7 " apart (just a little on the inside of the seatrails
on a harley softail style frame, making a stock conversion to a springer solo seat
a breeze attach a nose hinge, and weld your mount tabs on the inside of the stock framerails!)
The sides are Alligator Print Leather and is tough and durable. The alligator leather is stronger, thicker, and more resistant to the elements than plain alligator hide, and is perfect for a motorcycle seat which is going to see lots of sun and rain that would split, crack, and fade normal alligator hide.

I make my solo seat pans on an english wheel, this allows me to contour the seatpan to fit the rider's posterior more than just a flat seat pan. Also, i put a deep dish 'pocket' in the pan right where you sit, so the padding is over 1.5" thick in the pocket!
This seat pan is made of sturdy 16AWG Steel, and then formed and contoured which gives it EVEN MORE STRENGTH AND RIGIDITY, without adding the extra weight of a 10 AWG or 1/4" plate metal.
Since it's contoured, instead of a flat pan, you're a lot more comfortable on long rides. Contours and gussets are incorporated into the seatpan to make it LIGHT AND STRONG! if you've ever had a 15+ lbs seat pan from some other seatmakers, you will understand why it's so nice to have a seat that weighs in under 4 LBS!

MEMORY FOAM for my padding. This means more comfort with less
padding thickness that will not break down over time. With over 1.5 "
of memory foam in the 'pocket', you can ride comfortably for as long
as you want. NO MORE SADDLE SORES.
seats have finished backs on them. There will be no exposed metal to
rust on the back. No large clunky "slider bolt" brackets on
my seats that wiggle loose or creak and groan. The nose mount is custom
made and TiG Welded in, giving a nice clean and finished look. The shock mounts are also TiG welded in already at about 7 " apart. This spacing falls just inside a stock softails' seat rails, making
a conversion from standard seat to solo springer seat a breeze.
